Making a Diaper Cake

How to Make a Diaper Cake

Home ::Diaper Cakes :: Make a Diaper Cake

Diaper Cakes are a wonderfully handcrafted baby gift. This inedible cake is lovingly arranged with premium diapers coiled in bountiful layers filled with baby necessities and toys. The outer layer is adorned with hooded towels, bibs, onesies, booties, and many other baby items.

1) First, you need to decide how many tiers you want on the cake. Most diaper cakes are three tiers which will take about 50-55 diapers.

2) Roll the diapers vertically into cylinders and use scotch tape or rubber bands to hold the shape. Once you have about 30 diaper cylinders for the bottom tier, tie them all together in the shape of a cake with ribbon.

3) If you like, you can wrap the bottom layers of the cake with a blanket. You can attach the tiers to each other with adhesive or pins. Try not to use something messy like glue, since you want the new mom to be able to actually use the diapers.

4) The top tier can contain a special item, like a baby bottle or teddy bear. For a bottle, you can attach the diapers around the bottle. Stuffed animals can be pinned to the top layer of the cake.

5) Other items can also be used to decorate the cake, including rattles, squeaky toys and a feeding set. Use the list of items below for other fun ideas to decorate your cake.

You can make a gorgeous, thoughtful, and useful diaper cake that can even match the theme of the baby shower. Diaper cakes are ideal for: baby shower gifts and centerpieces, new parents, and a welcome to the world gift for baby.
